Think Outside the Box

2009 January 3

fedex1There is an arrow here.  Can you see it?  The Federal Express (FedEx) people thought it was clever (and I agree) to incorporate an arrow into their logo.  This arrow indicates they are always moving forward.   Can you see the arrow yet?  Sometimes you just have to think outside the box.  It’s a paradigm shift.  Some people can see what others miss simply because they look at things differently.  Think about a common New Year’s resolution for example, to get out of debt.  Many people would like to get out of debt.  But as the saying goes, if you always do what you’ve always done you will always get what you’ve always gotten.  Boy, my English teacher would cringe at that sentence structure.

“We cannot solve our problems with the same level of thinking that created them.”  -Albert Einstein.   So what do we do then to get out of debt?  Think outside the box to come up with a better solution.  That’s what the leadership team at United First Financial has been doing for four years now.  They have developed the Money Merge Account program to teach people how to position their money in the best possible way to ensure a financially secure future.  Think of it as a personal financial bailout without all the negatives, like more loans and politicians.  This bailout is not only under your control but for your benefit.  It combines education and coaching with a financial power tool designed to eliminate your debt in less time with little change to your standard of living.  Can you see the possibilities?  fedex2Will you act on this information and get out of debt?    A solution to debt may be staring you in the face.  Will you see it when you look at it?  Or will you click to another site without ever seeing the arrow?  Move forward.

Once you see the arrow you are ruined everytime the FedEx logo is seen. It is the little things that serve as a reminder to us each and every day to point us in the right drection. Many times we think we are doing the best thing because society tells us how to do it. Once we learn that we can do it differently a light is shown on our minds to reveal another way and points us in the right direction just like the FedEx logo.

You are so right Michael. When I see the FedEx truck drive by I instantly see the arrow. I can’t not see it.

nice message steve – as a fellow paradigm shifter, UFirst agent, and generally open minded fella, i always enjoy tidbits like this. and to further enhance the paradigm shift, were you aware that there is also a spoon inside of the first “e”? i’m not sure of its meaning, but believe it to be intentional. a bit ironic, and will piggyback the paradigm shift as we all continue to look ahead.

OK, I see the spoon. So what are you feeding me? Good observation. I would guess it was not intentional. Maybe the guy who designed it was hungry and his subconscious mind took over.

Every year I make a resolution to get out of debt, but I never resolve to change any of my spending and saving habits in order to do so. Living in debt is a miserable way to live. Not until this year, anyway. I have already paid off a vehicle loan, will pay off one credit card in April and another in June. I do have student loans, but I am still in school. My fiancee and I have med bills from the birth of our son, but we’re paying small installments each month and are not bothered by collectors anymore. None of this would have been possible if I did not change the way I spend my money.

    P.S. – I love the blog!

Well done, Nathaniel. Not many people are that disciplined.
