Do you have issues?
We have issues here in Ohio. We have five issues on the ballot. Issue number six (not a typo, issue 4 was withdrawn) is a constitutional amendment to allow a casino to be built in Ohio. ) Some are in favor of this while some are opposed to it. I have read the proposed change to the constitution and in my opinion it is poorly written. The community in which it may be built could be totally against it, but if the majority of Ohioans vote yes, they are stuck with it. Now, if I lived there, I would think that the people who live in that community should have more say in whether it is built or not. Not so. Everyone in that community and the surrounding counties could be opposed to it and it would still be built if the rest of the state wants it. That seems wrong. And the wording states that only one casino is to be built. But at another point it says that the taxes paid by this casino will go down if another casino is ever built in Ohio. Hmmm. I don’t know what all the legal fuss is about. We already have a casino in Ohio. Worse yet, it is totally geared toward kids. Kids can spend money there like crazy all day long. Of course, they don’t call it a casino, that would scare parents away. They serve pizza to attract a large cross section of the population and I must admit I did enjoy the birthday party we attended there. But I think “casino for kids” is a better name for it than Chuck E Cheese.
